What is KAIST-only Filing?

A "KAIST-only Filing" refers to a patent application with KAIST as the sole applicant.
In other words, the patent right to the invention and the authority to exercise such right shall be exclusively vested in KAIST. KAIST-only Filing may be conducted through one of the following methods:

  • 1ITVC Funding

Domestic Funding Review is conducted; and
filing costs are supported by KAIST using its central administrative budget based on the review results (grades).

  • 2Lab Funding

Domestic Funding Review is not conducted; and
domestic filing is carried out using Lab funds secured by the inventor's laboratory.

Required Documents: Invention Description, Invention Disclosure, Assignment Agreement, Consent for Collection and Use of Personal Information (available for output through PTMS at the time of disclosing the invention)
