Eligibility for Foreign Funding Review

(All of the following requirements shall be satisfied)
  • The invention shall have completed a formal domestic patent application (applications based solely on provisional specification filing are not eligible)
  • As of the domestic filing date, at least four (4) months shall remain before the expiration of the one-year priority period
  • The invention shall meet one of the following conditions: Grade A under Domestic Funding Review (Grades B, C, and D are not eligible for Foreign Funding Review); or Where Domestic Funding Review has not been conducted, the invention shall have completed a formal domestic filing under Lab Funding (P grade) provided that one of the following reports is submitted

    2IP Analysis and Strategy Report
  • The application shall be a KAIST-only Filing (KAIST as Sole Applicant)
    * Joint Filing is eligible only where KAIST holds exclusive licensing rights

Where the invention meets the eligibility requirements for Foreign Funding Review, access PTMS and submit a request for Foreign Funding Review. Refer to the Foreign Funding Review application manual for detailed instructions.

Funding Review Criteria and Funding Scope

Support shall be provided in order of priority based on the results of the Domestic Funding Review, taking into account the number of applications and the available budget.
